Langata Youths Network is an open voluntary community youth based organization registered under by the Kenyan government under societies and operates under the affecting leadership of its members through networking and collaborating with other like minded organization for the purpose of development and highlighting the need of the young people in there respective communities.

Established in the month of august of the Jan 2012 the group here witness a spar ado change and positive growth in its membership and the capacity of its leadership. Having been previously been pioneered by 10 founding young people, through the commitment from its members we have now recruited a number of 80 members drawn from the different youth groups in the wide Langata constituency and the recently establish Kibera constituency

Fundamental to its formation was the ideal and the perspective that the young people must be responsible and that they do now serve as leader in their own capacity. It was then important for them to unit and forge as a network of individual youth groups and young leaders from diverse background social status gender , physical ability, religion as opposed to individual youth groups this then been the philosophy of Langata youths network and has challenged the members to contribute the ideas and other resources to the organization. Tremendous steps and development have been achieved to date.

A society that is free for equal opportunities for all development of all the youths.

MISSION:

Is to nature promote and advance members community interests for a democratic living.

    OUR OBJECTIVES

• To increase community peace, unity and co- existed amongst voices Kenyan community in Kibera and in Kenya as a country.
• To instill, promote and inculcating in the Kenyan youth the spirit of hard work, honesty integrity and values that guarantee both the individual and national social political and economical development.
• To create linkages the grassroots to the national leadership and forums where the young men and women can influence policy regarding good governance and democracy.
• To maintain and sustain the environment by clean-up actual.
• To train members of the youth affiliated to Langata youth network with leadership skills i.e. members program.
• To create public awareness and campaigns against gender inequality in socio-economic and politic spheres amongst the youths in their respective communities.
• To link with organization and institutes that can offer Pergo economic empowerment and install the spread of entrepreneurship amongst the young people.

 ACTIVITIES:

• Leadership and membership programs done normally within the group membership other sections have been extended to neighboring or local primary and secondary school.
• Peace building programs and alternative conflict resolution to get to create and ensure social justice
• Community radio programs
• Debate and social forums
• Rehabilitation of prisoners by absorbing them into the groups programs and offering referrals
• Civic education, training and comment capacity building
